When Simplex Corporation, a world leader in time recording systems, needed to expand its manufacturing facilities, it moved its entire operations to Westminster, Massachusetts. Carr, Lynch and Sandell was retained to create a ,aster plan for the 60-acre site, integrating existing structures and new buildings in to a campus-like environment for employees and visitors. At the center of the administrative headquarters entry plaza, CLS designed a sun-dial sculpture, "the wolrds oldest time recording device." It is set in the landscape amid a sea of plantings.
