Carr, Lynch and Sandell was retained to design this 10,000 sf Italian style restaurant in a busy North Cambridge neighborhood. The main dining area seats 150 people under a plant-filled atrium. At the restaurant's entrance, an open kitchen allows diners to view the activity of the chefs preparing authentic provincial Abruzzi dishes. Special features include a wood-burning oven; an oven imported from Italy for roasting an entire 200-pound pig; and a room for curing prosciutto, sausages, and salami. The restaurant also houses a market where customers can select from a variety of prepared specialties to take away or eat in a less formal setting. There is a function room on the lower level for private functions.
