Fish Pier Building
At the Susset beach recreational area Carr, Lynch and Sandell proposed and designed the reuse and renovation of the 1956 ground face masonry structure at the fish pier on the Cape Cod Canal. It housed outdated restrooms a concession area and maintenance storage. The building was renovated into park staff offices, public meeting rooms and updated public restrooms. Responding to the clients directive to utilize environmentally sound strategies, passive solar, energy efficient lighting and plumbing fixtures were used throughout. The successful renovation of this park structure and fish pier became a state wide model for the reuse of other park buildings; a reinvestment in the Commonwealth's future.
